Turning a sequence of images into an animated GIF is straightforward. GifMash's GIF Maker tool (coming soon) will do this in the browser — here's the workflow.
Prepare your image sequence
Collect all your PNG or JPG frames, numbered sequentially (frame001.png, frame002.png…). Make sure all images are the same dimensions.
Use GifMash's GIF Maker (coming soon)
The GIF Maker tool will let you upload multiple images, set the frame order, and configure a global delay or per-frame timing.
Compress the result
After creating the GIF, use GifMash's main compressor to reduce the file size with color reduction and optimization.
Compress your GIF
Once your GIF is made, reduce its file size with GifMash's compressor.
PNG and JPG are the most common. PNG is preferred because it's lossless — JPG artifacts can worsen GIF quality after palette reduction.
As few as 2. More frames = smoother animation but larger file size. 10–30 frames is typical for a 1–3 second animation.
