Does resizing change the animation?

No — all frames are scaled proportionally, so the animation stays intact. Only the pixel dimensions change.

Will the file size shrink when I resize?

Almost always yes. Halving the width typically cuts the file size by around 75%, because the number of pixels drops by 75%.

What width should I use?

Common targets: 480 px for web, 320 px for mobile, 800 px for desktop slideshows. For Discord, 800 px or under works well.

Is there a maximum width?

The tool accepts widths up to 4096 px. Most browsers animate GIFs smoothly up to around 1200 px.
